Behind the Brand: My Why & My Process
Every brand has a story. This one began with a big chop.
My hair journey began in July 2018 with my first big chop.
After years of relaxers, dyes, and heat styling, cutting my hair off felt necessary — and liberating. But as freeing as it was, I quickly realized something important:
Cutting it wasn’t the finish line.
It was the beginning.
Restoring my curls to a healthy, vibrant state required patience, consistency, and education. And during that process, I discovered something unexpected — a passion for creating products that truly support natural hair.
The Lesson That Changed Everything
In a moment of temptation, I flat-ironed my hair again.
And the heat damage returned.
Uneven ends. Breakage. Setbacks.
That moment led to my second big chop in July 2020.
But instead of discouraging me, it deepened my commitment. I didn’t just want products that made my hair look good for a day. I wanted care that protected it long-term.
That experience shaped the foundation of Absolutely AEB:
Consistency over shortcuts.
Education over trends.
Intention over impulse.
Growth, Not Just Length
By 2023, my hair was healthier than it had ever been.
But what mattered more than length was this:

confidence
I embraced my natural beauty in a way I never had before. And I realized that healthy hair isn’t about chasing a look — it’s about building habits.
That understanding is what I now teach through Absolutely AEB.
My Loc Journey
On January 22, 2023, I began a new chapter — my loc journey.
After years of understanding curls, I was curious to see how my products would perform on locs. The results were eye-opening. Hydration, elasticity, and moisture retention looked different — but they were still possible.
This reinforced something powerful:
Healthy hair principles apply across textures.
Whether loose hair, locs, microlocs, or transitional hair — the foundation remains the same.
Hydrate. Seal. Stay consistent.
Transitioning Again
In February 2025, after three fulfilling years, I combed out my traditional locs.
It wasn’t regret. It was growth.
I entered a transitional phase with loose curls and prepared for microloc installation in April 2025. During this phase, I’ve experienced bounce and elasticity I once thought impossible.
And the products I created?
They supported every phase.
That’s when I truly understood the versatility and strength of what I had built.
My Process
Absolutely AEB isn’t just about products.
